Emerald Open Coaching Presented by MXstore
Emerald Open Coaching presented by MXstore was a blast… of course. How could it not be? We had:
- Ellyse’s favourite MX track
- that was perfectly watered
- all to ourselves
- with a great bunch of riders
This school was made up predominantly of junior mx boys, with only two girls, and one Dad joined in on Sunday (after watching from the sidelines all Saturday!). So, we covered the usual MX skills (we even got to use the start gates), went through the basics in the car park area, had a super fun little relay and even headed bush and showed the mx boys and girls how to get over logs! The cool thing was, on Sunday arvo when there was some free time, half of the group opted for logs again! We also did three timed laps over the course of the two days to monitor progress, some knocked as much as 11 seconds off their first time.
Special mention goes to 6-year old Parker. His attitude was second to none and he absolutely killed every exercise and obstacle all weekend. Go Parker!!! Also, thank you to local guns, Mitchell Alexanda and Dylan Gook for coming along and giving Ellyse and I a chance. It is certainly a common idea among the men and older boys that Ellyse and I may not be able to teach much to already accomplished male riders, but we can. So, thanks boys!
Open Coaching weekends are designed for everyone! And there are still four more on the calendar for 2019.

Lastly, and most importantly, thanks to the Pease Family. They helped organise, watered, and put Ellyse and I up for the weekend. Thanks team!
